Comprising 6 original compositions, written and performed entirely by Sean Carpio, ‘Waves of a Present” represents a marked change in direction for the Irish Jazz drummer and Multi-Instrumentalist. Following on from 2013’s ‘Wowo’s’ project, ‘Waves of a Present’ picks up where it left off. Featuring additional vocals by Aoife Nessa Frances who recently signed to Partisan Records, and Bass Clarinet by Robert Stillman, who recently featured on The Smile project by Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood, this is a landmark album in Sean’s venerable musical journey.

‘Waves of a Present’ was recorded over two sessions by Dek Hynes, one at Ten Spot Studios in a remote part of the Irish countryside and the other at Sean’s Dublin studio. It was mixed by Dek and Brendan Jenkinson (Villagers, John Frances Flynn) and mastered from 1/4” analog master tape. For Sean, the album comes fresh off the back of his performance and contribution in the critically acclaimed play ‘Medicine’, a dark and absurdist production by Enda Walsh.

Each 10” record is hand numbered, limited to 500 copies and is housed in a custom made, lithographically printed tip-on deluxe gatefold jacket designed by Ror Conaty (www.monolith.ie) in Dublin.
